unAPI, WordPress and Zotero

coins_inode.jpgThis isn’t new—it’s been around for more than a year—but I can’t spend all my time on the leading edge. Sometimes I have to loop back to catch up on the stuff I missed the first time through.

And now that I’m here, I’d like to encourage any other late-to-the-party WordPress bloggers to take a look at this small plugin.

Activate the unAPI for WordPress plugin  and within seconds the metadata (and a 500 character excerpt) of your blog posts can be quickly and cleanly accessed by Zotero users.

You can read more about the plugin and unAPI (it’s a follow-on to the COinS spec that breaks free of OpenURL in order to be much more useful) here:

Thanks to Peter Brinkley and Mike Giarlo for developing this plugin.  I now have to figure out a way to get put this functionality into a few other systems we offer.
