Identity 2.0

Identity 2.0Viewed a really interesting presentation on Identify 2.0 by Dick Hardt, Founder and CEO of Sxip Identity. The topic is a relevant one for the digital future…how do you prove who you are online and how can we reduce the hassle inherent in today’s options? Despite the bucolic metaphors (Silos, walled gardens, harvesting, phishing, pharming) the current state of affairs is no bed of roses. But why do we need a new mechanism? How might it work? Where might it come from? This presentation gives you a head start on thinking about the issues…

But the real reason I point this presentation out is that beyond being informative, it’s a really great example of how tossing aside the mind-numbing, powerpointless bulleted list can yield a clean, simple, engaging presentation. And after you view it, you realize you really learned something.

Lawrence Lessig gets a credit at the end for the style but I think this one breaks some new ground as well.
