Brought the component software of our portal up to current versions over the past few days (WordPress 2.3.1 and SPT/CWIS 1.4.2 beta) and we’re about ready to begin the real work—adding the subject-specific content.

We’ve selected Bioinformatics as our subject focus and Victoria Shelton (our liaison to the Bioinformatics program) has mapped out a taxonomy for our resource database. I’ll be showing Victoria how one coaxes the CWIS software into building a resource database later this week.
It will take some weeks to build the content and refine the taxonomy and other tools but we should have something ready for a beta launch by early January.
