Working on building library-related content for the nascent MyMason project (mymason.gmu.edu) has made me realize we need to tweak a bit of our website’s plumbing—to make it easier to repurpose some of our content. Toward that end, I set up a WordPress blog to handle our “Library News” section. This opens up ease of posting to capture some of the benefits of a Content Management System and simplifies reuse of the content via RSS feeds (for the MyMason project). I realize that the theme I’m using (a tweaked version of the Blix theme) looks a lot better on my mac than it does on my Windows laptop. I may have to adjust it a bit more but the basic idea is up & running.
